An exciting start up business is looking for a Mechanical Project Design Engineer based in Cambridge. Working closely with the MD, you will have a back ground in energy or automotive with a strong understanding and experience of Thermo Dynamics. You will possess a higher degree in Mechanical Engineering with Engineering theory or similar calibre.

You will have a degree in mechanical/process engineering or apprentice trained/similar calibre with excellent planning, change control, managing the process from start to finish and comply with HSE whilst understanding the effect on product and process if the work is not completed to a required standard. Working within a fast-moving full life-cycle environment, you will have a minimum of 3-5 years exposure within a production process engineer role, ‘hands on’ managing call outs when needed.

Ideally you will have design of products compliant with Intrinsic safety (ATEX, IECEx) and CE mark with use of 3D CAD/SolidWorks and product data management to generate 2D drawing pack. Experience of NPD manufacturing processes including injection moulding, tolerance analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is desirable. Use of simulation tools ideally Comsol or Finite Element Analysis and material selection knowledge of ATEX would be an advantage. ​​​​​
